What is the difference between porcelain veneers and composite bondings?

The most commonly used material for aesthethic restorations are either porcelain laminate veneers or composite bondings. Porcelain veneers are preferable for coorecting the color, shape and size as mentioned before. Porcelain veneers can last for a long time. Due to porcelain materials strength, veneers last longer than composites, the fracture risk is much more lower, discolorations and stians may ocur in a longer time period when compared with compite bondings. In addition; since veneers are made in the laboratories by dental technicians, they superior aesthethic results to composites. Although composite bonding are classified as aesthetic restoration, they may not give the desired aesthetic results because they are done inside the mouth. Porcelain veneers can not be completed in the same day because of the laboratory procedures however, composite bondings are same-day treatment. Composite bondings are more affordable when compared with porcelain veneers. Both restoration mayo r may not require minimal shaving of the teeth depending on the case.
